“…that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” -Jesus
“Why do we copy everything the culture is doing to create a Christian copy of it? Is xerography a form of xenophobia?” -a Leonard Sweet tweet
From the early days of Christendom to present day multimedia it seems as though we have gone one step further and borrowed styles and language not only of the culture, but from other believers who have in turn borrowed successfully from a culture. I wonder what it would be like if we truly understood this prayer here in John 17….
The most miraculous displays of Christ are best seen in the places we do not by nature gaze upon. 1. Jesus is God 2. Do not reshape God 3. Go forth in his name.
We serve the Creator. Essentially we are disciples of The Creator….Jesus prays that the love The Father has for Him would be found in us also, that Christ Himself would be found in us!
We don’t need to borrow anything the culture has already produced/ reproduced.
