In surrendering to God I’ve come to know my limitations, but then in walking with God I realize there are none.
Some wait for armor, some put rocks in slings.
In I Samuel 17:32-54 The need was greater than David’s ability to deliver the solution. He could not obediently pursue Goliath dressed in Saul’s armor; he had to face him with what he had. He ran towards the enemy to pick five stones from the stream. David kills Goliath, cuts his head off and by this time the adrenaline is coursing through his veins. The adrenaline of walking obediently into the unknown and accomplishing that which, by nature, was improbable.
“Our God appears not to be particularly taken with efficiency, effectiveness, or our changing his world. He is mostly interested in our obedience.” -Mark Galli
We are strategists by birth. The innate desire to succeed leads us into risky life circumstances. We all have a hidden agenda in life-that which is self-serving. The objective is to lay your self down, take up your cross and follow Christ. And in following Christ He uses us to do good things.
And yet we live our lives like Adam painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel-a lifeless hand NOT extending out to the Creator!
“Let’s just say that on this day, a million years ago, a dude was born who most of us think was magic. But others don’t, and that’s cool. But we’re probably right. Amen.” – Homer Simpson”
If anyone is guilty of not making the most of every moment given to each day-it’s me. Followers of Jesus are sanctuaries to the very Spirit of God! Say it, “I am a sanctuary of the Spirit of God.”
There are actual moments in my day where I forget about eternity. There are literal thoughts in my head that do not give to total-undivided worship of God the Father. There are dreams I start chasing that fall short of my title as a child of The One and Only-Beginning and End!
“But the dreamers of day are dangerous men, that they may act their
dreams with open eyes to make it possible” TE Lawrence
Toss any vision to the side of the road that falls short of mirroring your eternity. Reach out to God and you will embrace the unreachable God-given vision He awaits for you to see-the understanding He waits for you to know.
“The harvest is not measured by the grain in the barn, but the wheat in the field.” Dr. Raymond Culpepper
Spiritual Atrophy is walking away when we’re called to endure. In Christ we can both move mountains, and enjoy our day when buried under them.
Reaching people and impacting lives is more than a decision. It is a direction you must find yourself in the process of walking before it can be measured.
God, You will set my stride, You will guide my hands, You will choose my words, You bring reality to dreams my mind cannot begin to fathom!
